     Andrea Lawson - Vice President

Andrea Lawson is a charter member of the Abbott Institute.  She has served on the Board of Directors since 2017.  A native of Glynn County and an avid student of History, Andrea became interested in the Institute after reading an article in the Brunswick News.  Her desire to make a difference and give back to her community led to her association with the Abbott Institute.

Andrea graduated from Brunswick Junior College with an Associate of Science Degree and later earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice, with Minors in Political Science and Psychology, from Armstrong Atlantic State University.  She then completed the requirements for a Master of Public Administration Degree from Georgia Southern University. She is certified by the Georgia Department of Revenue as an Appraiser and has over 30 years of mass appraisal experience having worked for County government in both Real and Personal property.

Andrea has held leadership positions in both public sector and nonprofit management.  As Deputy Chief Appraiser and Personal Property Supervisor of the Glynn County Property Appraisal office during a massive change in legislative procedures, she realized her appreciation for the time and work spent in graduate studies. Andrea has served as Board President of the Brunswick YWCA and Board Member/Secretary of Skylark where she currently serves as a volunteer for special projects.  She is also a member of the Georgia Association of Assessing Officers (GAAO).

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
